2016 – The European Union rewards and funds LabService for the ODORPREP® project
In October 2016, LabService was rewarded and funded by the European Commission for the OdorPrep© project, after successfully passing the second screening (Phase II) of the tool dedicated to the PMIs of Horizon 2020, the European Research and Innovation Framework program.

2015 – Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) – CEN ISO 16000
Issues arising from exposure to pollutants in adjacent environments (schools, hospitals, sports facilities, libraries, restaurants, theaters, cinemas, etc.) are increasingly affecting legislators, both at community and national level. LabService actively participates in the development of low cost sensors in collaboration with European companies and duly appointed Institutions.
2014 – LabService, ODORPREP® and DYNAMIC OLFACTOMETRY
Determining odor concentration through dynamic olfactometry led LabService to develop the ODORPREP system: a device that allows the real time sampling of odorous emissions, in accordance with UNI EN 13725, through remote control.
2013 – LabService and the GREEN PEOPLE® environmental line
The long experience LabService gained over the years in the field of portable instrumentation for 1st level environmental monitoring such as: HNU, Sensidyne, Telegan, Crowcon, Ion Science, Geotechnical, etc., suggested the adoption of Brand Management techniques to the company with the creation of the GREEN PEOPLE brand under which the tools and services of the aforementioned producers are marketed and managed.
2013 – InterCinD®, LabService’s interlaboratory circuit
After sponsoring a PTx on dioxins in the food and environmental sectors for over 10 years, LabService promoted the merger of two major circuits in 2013, Interlab (S) and Cind (I), creating one of the most important internationally recognized Interlaboratory Circuits. In 2015 it obtained ACCREDIA’s ISO/EN CEI 17043 PTP accreditation as Provider.
2010 – LabService and DEPOBULK®
After the prototyping and development stage that had begun in 2003, the new DEPOBULK was launched in accordance with the guidelines of the IstiSan 06/38 Report of 2006 for the “determination of metals and IPAs in atmospheric deposition”. Approximately 700 units were installed by December 2015.
2003 – LabService launches the reference method for polymer characterization
LabService introduced the first Viscotek TDA (Tetra Detector Array) detector on the Italian market: LALS (Low Angle Light Scattering) and RALS (Right Angle Light Scattering) combined with a differential viscometer and a differential refractometer. A few years later it became the reference for the study and characterization of synthetic polymers, biopolymers and proteins.
2003 – LabService and continuous emission sampling systems
The DMS System (A) was proposed while Standard EN 1948 was being implemented. Control bodies, together with the industrial world, found a new response to the need for continuous emission sampling in Steel mills, Cement plants and municipal, toxic industrial and hospital waste disposal facilities. A cultural and technical revolution in PCDD/PCDF sampling that therefore went from 2 or 3 spot annual controls to a 24/24 h sampling system.
2003 – LabService starts-up the DepoLab project
LabService, in collaboration with industry experts, began an in-depth study on the sampling of POP micro-pollutants through bulk passive samplers. These studies materialized in the following years with the implementation of DepoBulk.
2000 – LabService and CIND: Dioxins Intercalibration Circuit
The first POPs intercalibration circuit was born in collaboration with environmental chemist Dr. Stefano Raccanelli: CInD (Dioxins Intercalibration Circuit). Designed to give qualified laboratories the chance to compare their performance on the difficult control of Dioxin and PCB residues, and developed on real matrices of soils, ashes and subsequently foods, it became the forerunner of the current Proficiency Tests.
1999 – POWER PREP at DIOXIN ’99
In September, the POPs sector World Congress was held in Venice and LabService Analytica introduced the new POWER PREP instrument, marketing it the following year through a line that marked a new automatism in sample preparation by installing over 250 automatic lines.
1998 – First Italian UNI EN ISO 9001 certified company
LabService Analytica, leading Italian company in this sector, obtains the ISO 9001 certificate for business in sector EA29a: “Marketing of laboratory and field analytical equipment”…“Products for chromatography and Certified reference materials”….“Technical-Scientific Services”.
1994 – LabService and FMS: a historical collaboration relationship
The second generation of GPC systems was developed by LabService in collaboration with FMS, which led the company to extend its leadership from the original Pesticide Residue sector to the PCDD, PCDF, PCB and PAH sectors.
1993 – Introduction of the Electronic Nose in Italy
In Italy, LabService introduced the first commercial Electronic Nose (Alabaster) in 1993. Although equipped with technology still considered experimental at that time, it aroused great interest. LabService followed its development for several years together with the French company ALPHA MOS. That was when one began understanding the application advantages and limitations of olfactometry.
1992 – DIOXIN Prep
The relationship with Fluid Management System (FMS) was consolidated and LabService installed, at JRC in Ispra, the first automatic extraction and purification system for the analysis of PCDD, PCDF, PCB and PAH in food and environmental matrices developed with the support of Atlanta’s CDC.
1989 – The first Italian GPC extraction system
LabService focused on techniques for extracting pesticides from vegetable and lipid matrices and implemented, after a number of experiences, the first Italian low-medium pressure system, the DPFC-1 (Dedicated Pesticide Fraction Collector), which automatically separated and purified the molecular fraction containing the active ingredients of analytical interest.
1988 – LabService and ERMA Inc. (Tokyo)
This new business relationship led to the introduction of the first HPLC Degassers and Refraction Index Detectors in Italy. It is worth remembering the memorable Model RI 7511, which was considered by the American Chemical Review as the best Refraction Index existing at that time.
1987 – LabService launches the column repacking service
LabService introduced, first and only in Italy, the “column repacking” service for HPLC columns. This system is designed to clean and reuse the metallic hardware of HPLC columns of any size to repack them with a new phase, thus greatly reducing analysis costs.
1984 – LabService Analytica Srl is established Separation Sciences, Environmental, Life Chemistry
